Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav Wednesday went on a foundation laying spree to beat the Lok Sabha election announcement in New Delhi.
Yadav announced several sops and laid foundation stones of many development projects -- barely 30 minutes before the Election Commission came out with the election dates.
The announcement brought into immediate effect the model code of conduct governing the elections -- that would have prevented Yadav from doing what he did.
