British singer Alexandra Burke has reportedly hit out at her ex-boyfriend, soccer player Jermaine Defoe, in her comeback track "Day Dreams".
The singer is releasing "NewRules" EPs (extended plays) as a taster of her forthcoming third album. "Day dreams", one of the songs from the album, is said to be on her relationship with soccer player Jermaine Defoe, whom she dumped after he was caught cheating on her.
"'Working on this new material has been really emotional," mirror.co.uk quoted the 25-year-old as saying.
"I've opened up lyrically more than ever and talked about things I never thought I would. But I always write from the heart," she added.
The song includes a number of scathing words aimed at Jermaine, from whom Alexandra parted ways in May 2012.
