The indefinite nationwide strike by radiologists, x-ray clinics, CT scan and MRI centres was called off on Friday after the representatives of Indian Radiologists and Imaging Association met Union health department officials in New Delhi, national president-elect Dr Bhupendra Ahuja told IANS.
After a series of meetings, the ministry assured them of firm action on their demands, including diluting provisions of the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act that the agitating doctors said were too stringent.
Ahuja said the strike has been suspended for three months. If no action is taken by then, the members will go on strike again.
