Actor Mohit Madaan, who is working in Anant Mahadevan's "Aksar 2", says the filmmaker is a hard taskmaster and perfectionist.
"Anant sir is a taskmaster. He makes his actors perform till the time he is not getting the perfect scene. As a newcomer, that is helping me to learn a lot about acting," Mohit told IANS.
"Aksar 2" is a thriller, a sequel to the 2006 film "Aksar", which was also directed by Mahadevan. The film features Zareen Khan and Gautam Rode in the lead roles, with Lillete Dubey and cricketer-turned-actor S Sreesanth in key roles.
Sharing his experience, Mohit said: "I am playing an interesting character that is multi-layered. The story of the film is based on how some materialistic people deal with a situation to win over it. Though I am a newcomer in the industry, I felt very comfortable sharing screen space with Zareen Khan and other actors as they are very down-to-earth people."
Born in Delhi, and brought up in New Zealand and Dubai, Mohit has studied acting at the New York Film Academy.
Asked if formal training helps on a film's set, Mohit said: "Acting is a performing art and you learn it better on the job. However, formal training conditions your mind to learn things faster. Since I am working with Anant sir, I am learning many things on the job."
The actor made his debut in Bollywood with the film "Love Exchange" in 2015.
Being an outsider in the industry, he struggled before signing "Aksar 2".
"Whether you are a star child or an outsider, you have to prove your talent as an actor in each film. It is a very competitive industry. Therefore, it is not always about getting the first assignment, but about how to continue the journey. And only the audience decides that -- the box office success of a film makes our journey a little easier."
