A caller kept the Gurgaon police on its toes for the second day Thursday with a call about a bomb planted at a shopping complex here which later turned out to be a hoax.
The Arcadia shopping complex in South City on Sohna road was evacuated after the police received the bomb hoax call. The police confirmed the call was a hoax after a five-hour search.
Police received a similar call about a bomb being planted at a Delhi Metro station and a market in Gurgaon Wednesday which too was found to be a hoax after a four-hour search.
Both the calls were made from the same number.
A caller Thursday informed the Delhi Police Control Room that a high intensity bomb has been planted in the Arcadia and adjoining multi-storey building having offices in it.
"Gurgaon police was informed by Delhi Police about the bomb threat. The caller used the same mobile number he used in a threat call Wednesday," a senior police officer told IANS.
"The number has been issued from Odisha but the location of the caller shows in the National Capital Region (NCR)," he said.
He said that police evacuated and checked the shopping complex thoroughly.
Around 2 p.m., police declared that it was also a hoax call.
Hundreds of policemen, bomb disposal and sniffer dog teams along with fire fighters took part in the search operation.
A bomb scare at HUDA City centre Metro station Wednesday affected the metro service for over two and a half hours, and a bomb scare at Vyapar Kendra in Sushant Lok area forced the police to evacuate business outlets.
