Rajya Sabha Chairman M. Hamid Ansari on Monday asked Trinamool Congress (TMC) member Sukhendu Sekhar Roy to "withdraw" from the house for the rest of the day for creating disturbance during question hour.
Roy was standing and asking for a statement from Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on the AgustaWestland issue.
The Rajya Sabha had just met at 12.30 p.m. after an adjournment when Ansari banished the member from the house for standing and creating a disturbance during the question hour.
The TMC members questioned why Ansari did not take action against Congress members who were also disrupting the house.
TMC members then staged a walkout.
