Army chief, Gen. Bipin Rawat on Tuesday presented President's Standards award to 87 Armoured Regiment, 41 Armoured Regiment and 10 Armoured Regiment at the Suratgarh Military Station in Rajasthan.
The three Armoured Regiments were given the honour in recognition of the dedicated and meritorious service rendered by the regiments since their raising, more than three decades back.
"In the course of discharging their onerous duties, both in operations and in peace, the hard work done and sacrifices made by the valiant soldiers of these regiments has been duly recognised," an official statement said.
The award of President's Colours and Standards is one of the greatest honours bestowed upon a unit in recognition of service rendered by it to the nation, both during war and in peace.
