The Indian Army's Eastern Command chief Lt. Gen. Praveen Bakshi and Assam Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi on Monday discussed a gamut of issues related to the security scenario in the region and welfare of ex-servicemen.
During the meeting, held at Gogoi's official residence, emphasis was laid on synergistic approach between the state government and the army in maintaining law and order and other security issues and providing suitable vocations to ex-servicemen, an official statement said.
Assam Chief Secretary V.K. Pipersenia and Director General of Police Khagen Sharma were among a number of senior officials present at the meeting.
