A newly installed security system would enable Pakistan security apparatus to observe, identify and arrest suspect in only three minutes anywhere in the capital city Islamabad, the sources has said.

The system under Islamabad Safe City Project worth Rs.14 billion has been installed at various locations in Islamabad, The News reported on Tuesday.

"National Database and Registration Authority (Nadra) would be able to provide complete online record of any suspect with the help of image. The Rapid Response Force (RRF) would reach the targeted spot within three minutes to grab the suspected person," the sources said.

The project would enable the authorities to get real-time information and respond in the shortest possible time, a senior official of the Interior Ministry said.

"A bombproof command and control centre has been set up. Over 200 policemen would be sent to China to become part of the security apparatus," he said.

A Chinese company would monitor the project for one year after which it would be run by Nadra in coordination with the district management and intelligence agencies.

Use of ID cards, vehicle registration and driver licence for authentication of vehicles and individuals is also part of the project, the official said.
