Arsenal midfielder Mesut Ozil will be forced out of competition for at least four weeks due to a hamstring strain, the club said.
The Germany international sustained the injury in the second minute of Tuesday's Champions League defeat at Bayern Munich but played on until half-time, the club said Thursday, reports Xinhua.
The 25-year-old, Arsenal's 42.4 million pounds record signing player last summer, will miss Sunday's trip to Tottenham, as well as games against Chelsea, Swansea, Manchester City and Everton.
Ozil has scored six goals in 35 appearances since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid.
