Actor Arun Vijay, basking in the success of Tamil thriller "Kuttram 23", on Wednesday expressed happiness over the doctorate for his father and veteran actor Vijay Kumar.
City-based MGR University is bestowing Vijay Kumar with a honorary doctorate on Saturday.
"57 years in cinema. More than 700 films. He has seen four generations. True recognition with a doctorate," Arun Vijay tweeted.
Having made his acting debut with 1973 Tamil film "Ponnukku Thanga Manasu", Vijay Kumar went on to star in several films such as aceAval Oru Thodar Kathai", "Kaali", "Kizhakku Cheemayile" and "Anthimanthaarai".
Vijay Kumar was also part of his son's latest outing "Kuttram 23".
