Singer-songwriter Ashlee Simpson got a taste of Christmas festivities a little early in the year! Her recent 30th birthday party was themed on the winter festival.

There was also fake snow.

Simpson's husband Evan Ross shared a photograph of the couple and their friends posing in fake snow with a North Pole sign, fairy lights and Santa hats.

"Last night made it @ashleesimpsonofficial favourite holiday Christmas in California (sic). It was a snowy one. Happy birthday baby," Ross posted along the photograph on Instagram.com, reports eonline.com.

A source said: "Ashlee wore a coat and played in the snow. They have huge candy canes all over, Christmas trees, colourful lights draped around."

Simpson married Ross in August.
