Australian cricketer Jackson Bird has been given the green light to join his teammates in South Africa for the Test series after being cleared of a back injury.
The Australian fast bowler will fly to South Africa Friday with all-rounder Moises Henriques and start their preparations for a series against the world's top-ranked Test side, reports Xinhua.
Bird, 27, injured his back while fielding for the Melbourne Stars against the Hobart Hurricanes in the Big Bash League last week.
He was pulled out of a Futures League game to receive ongoing treatment and was given the all-clear by medical officials after a nets session at Bellerive Oval Wednesday.
The Test tour of South Africa kicks off with a four-day warm-up match against an Invitational XI next week in Potchefstroom before the first Test in Centurion, starting Feb 12.
