Spanish football club Atletico Madrid has announced that Colombian forward Jackson Martinez returned to training on the pitch and "progresses favourably" from a sprained ankle sustained playing for his national team.
Martinez, who suffered the injury on November 13 during the Colombia-Chile game, will be sidelined for the fifth consecutive game of his side against Granada on Saturday at the Nuevo Los Carmenes stadium, Atletico announced on Friday, reports Efe.
"This week, the Colombian has stepped on the grass of the Sports City to continue with his recovery process," the Spanish club said in a statement on its official website.
Head coach Diego Simeone pointed out that Jackson will continue working with the medical staff until he completes his recovery.
