Australia middle-order batsman George Bailey has confirmed that he has signed a two-year deal with Hobart Hurricanes in the T20 Big Bash League.

"It's been a busy season and there is a lot to get through before the Hurricanes hit off, but the list is coming together nicely and I'm looking forward to being Hurricane again," Bailey was quoted as saying by cricket.com.au on Thursday.

The Tasmanian's return adds further strength to an already impressive Hurricanes outfit that is led by star overseas recruits Sri Lankan Kumar Sangakkara and West Indian Darren Sammy.

Having captained Indian Premier League (IPL) franchise Kings XI Punjab in a disappointing campaign that saw them eliminated from play-off contention early, Bailey is currently holidaying in Europe before linking up with the Sussex Sharks in England's domestic T20 competition.

"Securing Kumar Sangakkara is huge for the Hurricanes and with Darren Sammy also back on board and some great new signings, members and fans should expect some first class entertainment. There is a fantastic vibe that surrounds the T20 Big Bash League and I absolutely love putting on the Hurricanes shirt and playing in front of a packed home crowd," he said.

The World Cup winner's involvement in the Big Bash could again be limited by his international commitments, with a hectic 2015-16 schedule still being finalised by Cricket Australia.
