A court here sentenced an auto driver to 18 months in jail for molesting a woman in 2008.
Metropolitan Magistrate Ekta Gauba Wednesday awarded the punishment to 33-year-old auto-driver Narender and slapped him with a fine of Rs.6,000, of which Rs.5,000 will be paid to victim.
The court observed that auto-driver Narender misbehaved with the woman when she was passing by on the road and in view of the facts and circumstances, he does not deserves the benefit to be released on probation.
A case was registered against him in Anand Parbat police station here in December 2008 following a complaint by the woman.
She alleged that Narender molested her Dec 5, 2008.
