Real Madrid on Sunday announced that forward Gareth Bale has agreed to a contract extension that will tie the Welshman to the spanish football powerhouse till June 2022.
"Real Madrid C.F. and Gareth Bale have agreed an extension to the player's contract, keeping him at the club until the June 30, 2022," Real Madrid said in a statement.
The 27-year-old moved to Madrid from English club Tottenham Hotspur in September 2013 for a then world-record transfer fee.
Bale's previous deal with the reigning European champions had run until 2019.
He has scored 50 goals in 90 league appearances. He has also won two European Champions League titles with the Madrid giants.
Bale joins Lucas Vazquez, Luka Modric and Toni Kroos who have recently extended their current deals with the capital club.
