Baayern Munich have confirmed that ace goalkeeper Manuel Neuer will miss the UEFA Champions League group stage football match against Rostov after suffering from muscular problems.
The German captain will be cautionary sidelined by Bayern head coach Carlo Ancelotti as the custodian is plagued by a stiff calf. Neuer stays in Munich and will undergo treatment, the German record champions announced on Monday.
The "Bavarians" will clash with Rostov in UEFA Champions League on Wednesday and have either Sven Ulreich or Tom Starke between the posts, reports Xinhua.
Midfielder Arturo Vidal as well as Javi Martinez are questionable for the upcoming encounter as they have returned from injuries.
After four rounds of Champions League, the German giants sit on the second place of Group D followed by Eindhoven and Rostov. Atletico Madrid lead the group with 12 points.
