Bayern Munich's France international Franck Ribery will miss the derby against Nuremberg.
The Bundesliga front-runners will have to do without Ribery at the Bavarian derby as the attacking midfielder was forced to undergo surgery Thursday owing to "a burst blood vessel in his buttock", reports Xinhua.
The Frenchman stays in the hospital until Sunday to undergo a post-operative examination which will provide further information on how long he will be forced to stay out of action.
"I hope he can train with us again as soon as possible," Bayern coach Pep Guardiola said Friday.
Ribery returned recently when he helped the Bavarians to seal a hammering 5-0 win over Frankfurt at the 19th round. The German giants sit atop the standings with 53 points and have a 13-point gap to runner-up Leverkusen.
