Bayern Munich will take on Wolfsburg in the Telecom Cup final after they beat Monchengladbach in the semifinals.

Bayern Munich as well as Wolfsburg Saturday advanced on penalties into the final of the preparations tournament while Hamburg and Monchengladbach will play for the third place Sunday, reports Xinhua.

German record champions Bayern Munich started brightly but squandered a 2-0 lead against Monchengladbach.

With the 2-0 lead behind, Bayern stopped their offensive actions while Monchengladbach pressed to pull one back. Bayern's Holger Badstuber allowed Monchengladbach to reduce the lead as the defender committed a handball to cause a penalty at the 42nd minute.

Max Kruse stepped up and converted the penalty, making in 2-1 on the scoreboards.

Monchengladbach were not done with the scoring as Bayern gave another penalty. Javi Martinez lost the ball near the goal line and fouled Andre Hahn inside the box.

Kruse stepped up for the second time and was again successful, this time into the bottom right.

With scores level after regular time, the match went into penalties.

Bayern kept their nerves as only Rafinha saw his spot kick saved whereas Monchengladbach's Oscar Wendt and Julian Korb failed to convert their penalties, ensuring a 5-4 win for Bayern Munich
