International Olympic Committee (IOC) chief inspector Alexander Zhukov said on Saturday that Beijing is capable of hosting a successful Winter Games.
"Our visit confirms that Beijing is capable of hosting successful Games," said the chairman of the 19-member IOC evaluation commission while concluding the five-day inspection.
"It has been a productive and informative visit," added Zhukov, who will "leave with a much greater understanding" of Beijing's bid.
Zhukov also said the "Olympic spirit from 2008 is alive and stronger than ever".
The IOC will select the host city between Beijing and Almaty, Kazakhstan, on July 31 in Kuala Lumpur.
In the visit to Almaty in February, Zhukov called Kazakhstan's business capital a "qualified candidate", refusing to be drawn on comparisons with Beijing.
