Singer Beyonce Knowles has left behind singer Selena Gomez on Instagram by making a record-setting post announcing that shes pregnant with twins.

Knowles's surprise news, accompanied by a photograph of herself wearing lingerie and clutching her belly, received 6.33 million likes in less than eight hours after she posted it on Instagram on Wednesday, reports variety.com.

The post also has over 334,000 comments. That beats the previous record holder Selena Gomez, whose Instagram sponsored post of herself sipping a Coke last June garnered 6.3 million likes.

Within one hour of Beyonce's post going live, it had 2.43 million likes and 166,000 comments.

"We would like to share our love and happiness. We have been blessed two times over," Beyonce wrote in her Instagram post.

Knowles and her husband Jay Z also have a 5-year-old daughter, Blue Ivy.
