Bhiwani town in Haryana was in the midst of heat wave conditions Saturday, recording a maximum temperature of 44 degrees Celsius, Met officials said here.
Hisar town recorded a high of 41 degrees.
Other places in Haryana were a little cooler with the maximum temperature being below 39 degrees. Chandigarh recorded a high of 39 degrees.
In Punjab, Amritsar city was relatively pleasant with a high of 38.8 degrees and minimum of 19.2 degrees. Ludhiana and Patiala recorded highs of 40.3 degrees and 39.3 degrees respectively.
Met officials have predicted thunderstorms and duststorms at a few places in Punjab and Haryana in the two days.
