The alliance led by the ruling Janata Dal-United (JD-U) in Bihar on Monday approached the election commission and demanded action against BJP for "bribing" voters in the state.

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), the Congress and the Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are other members of the Janata Dal-United-led alliance.

"Clothes worth around Rs.250 crore have been brought from Surat to Bihar for distribution among the voters. They are bribing voters. So we approached the election commission and demanded action," JD-U president Sharad Yadav told reporters after the meeting.

Yadav, who led the delegation, alleged that to woo voters, BJP is distributing saris and T-shirts among the voters.

Congress leader and party spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said the commission assured the delegation about investigation in the matter and proper action.

The four parties have formed a grand alliance and decided to campaign jointly for the upcoming Bihar assembly polls from August to counter the BJP-led NDA.
