Expressing grief over those killed and injured in the flyover collapse in Kolkata, the BJP on Thursday targeted the Mamata Banerjee-led Trinamool Congress government, saying that the incident was a clear proof of corrupt practices in the state.
"Distressed to learn about an under construction bridge collapsed in Kolkata. Have instructed the state unit to assist in the rescue operation," BJP president Amit Shah said in a tweet.
BJP general secretary and incharge of party affairs in West Bengal, Kailash Vijayavargiya attacked Banerjee over the incident.
"It's an example and proof of the corruption by the Mamata government. People of state will not forgive her," Vijayvargiya said in series of tweets.
At least 14 people were killed and over 100 injured when a part of a flyover under construction collapsed over taxis and other vehicles in a congested area of Kolkata.
