A social media post mocking Prime Minister Narendra Modi by the Congress on Thursday was slammed by the BJP saying the party was "losing its values".
The BJP lashed out after the Congress' social media head Divya Spandana posted a picture of Modi standing next to the foot of the 182-metre Statue of Unity of India's first Home Minister Vallabhbhai Patel in Gujarat's Kevadia with the comment: "Is that bird dropping?"
The height of the statue's foot is bigger than Modi.
In their reply the Bharatiya Janata Party said: "Ummm no, it is the values of the Congress that are dropping. Historical disdain for Sardar Patel + Pathological dislike for Narendra Modi Such language."
"Clearly, Rahul Gandhi's politics of 'love'," it said.
