The BJP is misusing the CBI, Delhi's Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia said on Tuesday after the agency reportedly conducted searches at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office here.

"Today the CBI is being misused in the same way it was misused during the Congress rule. The Centre is spreading terror with CBI," Sisodia said at a press conference after the searches at the Delhi secretariat.

The Central Bureau of Investigation said that Tuesday's searches were conducted at the office of Indian Administrative Service officer Rajendra Kumar, principal secretary to the Delhi chief minister. The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), however, alleged that files in the chief minister's office were checked.

Calling it a black day for Delhi's democracy, Sisodia said the central government is interfering with the work of the Delhi government.

"The CBI has raided the office where all the files of the chief minister were kept. There were affidavits which had to be filed in the court. How can they say that this is not an action against Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal," asked Sisodia.

"How can they say that they are not attempting to interfere in the work of Kejriwal, saying that action is against Rajendra Kumar? If the central government had any suspicion against Rajendra Kumar, then they should have told the Delhi government and not directly raided his office," he said.
