BJP's Navin Jain elected Agra Mayor

The Bharatiya Janata Party's Navin Jain was Friday elected the new Mayor of Agra, defeating his closest rival, Digambar Singh Dhakrey of the Bahujan Samaj Party by more than 70,000 votes.

The BJP, which has been winning mayoral elections in the Taj city without a break since 1989, was also heading for a majority in the 100 member Municipal Corporation.
