Reality TV personality-singer Bobbi Kristina Brown's grandmother Cissy Houston says her granddaughter has "irreversible brain damage" and still remains "unresponsive."

The mother of late singer Whitney Houston spoke out about Bobbi's condition after her father Bobby Brown told a crowd at a concert in Dallas on Saturday that his daughter was "awake" and "watching" him perform.

"I have just returned from visiting my granddaughter Bobbi Kristina in the hospital and while she is no longer in a medically induced coma, she has a tracheotomy and according to the doctors she has global and irreversible brain damage and remains unresponsive," Cissy said in a statement, reports people.com.

"Meeting with the doctors and understanding that she can live in this condition for a lifetime truly saddens me. We can only trust in god for a miracle at this time. Keep us in your prayers," she added.

Bobbi, 22, is still in a long-term care facility in Georgia and her prognosis remains unclear.

She was first hospitalised on January 31 after being discovered unconscious in the bathtub in her Roswell, Georgia home. In February, doctors attempted to remove Bobbi from her medically induced coma, but put her back into the comatose state after she experienced violent seisures.
