Botafogo are on the verge of signing Paraguay international striker Pablo Zeballos from Olimpia, media reports said.
The 27-year-old flew to Rio from Asuncion Monday to undergo a medical with the Rio de Janeiro club, Xinhua quoted Lancenet as saying.
"Yes, he has travelled to Brazil due to interest from Botafogo. But we can only reveal more later," the player's agent Santiago Mereles told the newspaper Lancenet.
News of the imminent deal comes less than three weeks after Zeballos joined Olimpia on loan from Uruguay's Nacional.
But the player has since launched legal action against the club over outstanding debt related to Zeballos' 2012 transfer from Olimpia to Krylia Sovetov.
Zeballos has won nine caps for Paraguay since his international debut in 2008.
