London, Nov 6 (IANS/EFE) A mural by the British graffiti artist Banksy will be sold at an art fair in the US.
The mural was removed from the wall of an amusement arcade in the town of Folkestone in Kent.
Art dealer Robin Barton said that the mural entitled "Art Buff", which depicts an older woman staring at an empty plinth will be sold for around $750,000 at the Context Art Miami art fair in December.
Some members of the Folkestone city community, including Member of Parliament Damian Collins, were against the selling of Banksy's valuable painting to private collectors.
Collins said he was upset to know that the work had been removed and is due to be sold at a private auction, adding that he would try to find an alternative solution to keep the artwork on public display.
Banksy is the pseudonym of an British graffiti artist, political activist, film director, and painter.
