Two BSF officers from its trick riding "Janbaz" team on Wednesday created what is claimed to be a world record by riding separate bikes continuously for over 10 hours on top of a pole fitted to their bikes, breaking the Indian Army's previous record.
Inspector Awdhesh Kumar Singh and Head Constable Durvesh Kumar rode on 16.5 feet tall ladder/pole fitted to their bikes -- the 350cc Royal Enfield Bullet motorcycle -- and entered the Limca Book of World Records, a Border Security Force (BSF) statement said.
"Awdhesh and Durvesh set their record at Chawla BSF camp in Delhi by riding their bikes continuously for 10 hours, 34 minutes and 27 seconds. They broke Indian Army's nine hours, four minutes and five second record made in 2011," said the statement.
The BSF team had first made a record in this solo bike stunt category in 2006 which the Army bettered in 2011.
In a statement, BSF noted that on April 13 three of these motorcycles carried 36 jawans and covered a distance of 1 km in only 55.52 seconds.
BSF's 'Janbaz' team was created in 1990 and is famous for its gravity-defying stunts.
