The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) has expelled former minister Avadhpal Singh Yadav for anti-party activities, an official statement said.

Party chief Mayawati ordered his expulsion from the party. Yadav is in prison in Etah for the past eight months on charges of murder and extortion.

He was accused of graft during the BSP rule in the state between 2007-2012 and had been suspended from the party. After the Samajwadi Party (SP) came to power in 2012, many cases were slapped against him.
