A Delhi court Tuesday dismissed the interim bail application of Bahujan Samaj Party MP Dhananjay Singh, accused of destroying evidence in the case of a maid's death. His wife is accused of torturing her.
Additional Sessions Judge Daya Prakash did not allow the plea of Dhananjay Singh seeking interim bail to attend the ongoing winter session of parliament that began Dec 5 and is scheduled to end Dec 20.
Dhananjay had requested the court to allow him to attend the session, saying he is a member of the Lok Sabha from Jaunpur constituency in Uttar Pradesh.
Dhananjay Singh was arrested and booked for destroying evidence and violating provisions of the Juvenile Justice Act.
His wife Jagriti was booked for murder, attempt to murder and for violating the Juvenile Justice Act after their maid died of injuries suffered as a result of alleged torture.
