Bureaucratic reshuffle in Uttarakhand

The Uttarakhand government on Wednesday effected a major bureaucratic shake up, an official said.

Deputy Secretary, Personnel, Mahaveer Singh said the transfers were done in "public interest".

J.P. Joshi has been appointed additional secretary revenue, veterinary and dairy development department.

Ramesh Chander Lohani, additional secretary forest, environment and personnel, was given additional charge of secretary sports, youth welfare and social welfare department.

Additional Secretary Social Welfare and Medical, Health and Family Welfare B.R. Tamta has been relieved from the charge of the social welfare department.

Many other officials have also been shifted, the official told IANS.
