A young woman was raped in a moving bus in Tripura, following which the accused driver and his assistant have been arrested, police said on Wednesday.
"The 19-year-old woman was raped by the driver at Gauranga Bazar on Monday night in southern Tripura. The driver and his assistant were arrested after the woman lodged a police complaint on Tuesday," South Tripura district police chief Bhanupada Chakraborty told IANS.
After dropping all passengers except the woman, driver Parimal Debnath asked his assistant Joyded Dey to drive the bus and raped her.
The woman, a mother of two children, told police that Debnath was angry as she had refused his marriage proposal.
