A four-year-old boy was mowed down by a private bus while he was waiting for his school bus outside his house in Haryana's Rewari town, some 55 km from Gurugram on Thursday, police said.

Police said the incident occurred near Jhajjar Chowk in Rewari.

"The child was waiting for his school bus near his house when he was crushed to death by a private bus. The victim died on the spot," Pankaj Yadav, an eyewitness, told IANS.

Angry people vandalised the bus and set it on fire.

Police had to use a mild cane-charge to dispersed the mob.
