The CBI has arrested a Delhi Municipal Corporation official on the charge of accepting Rs 10,000 in bribe for the grant of a licence for a meat shop, an official said on Thursday.
Veterinary Inspector Pradeep Kumar Dagar, posted at the south zone office of the civic body, was arrested on Wednesday while accepting the bribe from the complainant, Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) spokesperson R.K. Gaur said.
The official said Dagar would be presented before a Special CBI Judge at the Patiala House courts on Friday.
"The complainant informed us that Dagar had demanded Rs 60,000 from him for the licence to open a meat shop in Aya Nagar (south Delhi)," Gaur said, adding the CBI also conducted raids at his residence in Delhi.
