The CBI Thursday searched the residence and offices of BSNL general manager A.K. Gupta, who was allegedly running three companies without taking permission from the government.
The searches were conducted at two locations in Noida in Uttar Pradesh and one at Hauz Khas in Delhi.
The companies were allegedly being operated by the Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) official and his wife.
"Approximately Rs.3.29 lakh in cash was seized from Gupta's residence. Documents pertaining to properties at two locations have also been found," a Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) official said.
"Gupta was allegedly running three companies without taking permission to trade from the government," the official added.
