All appointments made during the Samajwadi Party rule in Uttar Pradesh will be probed by the Central Bureau of Investigation and no guilty spared, Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath announced in the assembly on Wednesday.
While 1.5 lakh vacancies exit in the Police Department, thousands of appointments have been made in 10 years in the state but none is above doubt, he said adding that "all the scams will be unearthed and no one found guilty will be spared".
Referring indirectly to former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala, who is lodged in Tihar jail after conviction in a teachers recruitment scam, Adityanath said by burning papers and official files no one will get away from the long arm of the law.
Responding to posers by the opposition on the 2017-18 state Budget, Adityanath targeted the Bahujan Samaj Party and the Samajwadi Party for what he said was the mess the state was in.
He patted Finance Minister Rajesh Agarwal for presenting a "balanced and development- oriented Budget".
The Chief Minister said the state had been dominated by caste and family politics in the past few decades, pushing it down on the ladder of progress and development.
Adityanath also took on opposition lawmakers who slammed his government on the law and order, saying that if he started speaking many people in the house will be exposed.
He said more than 1.53 lakh cases of land encroachment had come up in four months and said no one will be allowed to take law in their own hands.
"Neither will my government patronise criminals like the previous governments," the Bharatiya Janata Party leader added.
The Chief Minister accused the earlier government of patronising the illicit liquor mafia in Azamgarh, because of which 60 persons died last year.
