The authorities will install CCTV cameras in Jharkhand's capital Ranchi to check raising crime, an official said on Saturday.
This followed a day after Chief Minister Raghubar Das summoned police chief D.K. Pandey and Home Secretary N.N. Pandey and expressed unhappiness over rising crime.
"The chief minister has expressed unhappiness over the rising crime. He also suggested to install CCTV cameras at important places of Ranchi to keep a watch on the movement of criminals," the official, wishing anonymity, told IANS.
Crimes like murder, dacoity and robbery have witnessed a rise in Ranchi.
Till March, 22 robberies, 66 kidnapping and 51 murder cases were registered.
