A high level committee on Wednesday approved central assistance of Rs 1,269 crore to drought affected Maharashtra, an official said.
Out of Rs 1,269 crore, Rs 589.47 crore is supplementary assistance for damage to kharif crop and Rs 679.54 crore for damage to rabi crop, an official statement said.
The committee, at its meeting chaired by Home Minister Rajnath Singh, examined the aid proposal to Maharashtra based on the report of the central team which visited the state.
