Two men have been arrested for duping a person of Rs 80,000 on the pretext of getting him a job with Air India at the Indira Gandhi International (IGI) airport, a Delhi Police officer said on Wednesday.
Police said Kamal Arora and his accomplice Ansul Mishra were arrested on Tuesday night following raids at their respective residences in Gurugram and West Delhi.
Police said the incident came to light after the victim S. Suneel, a native of Andhra Pradesh, filed a complaint against Arora and Mishra.
"Arora and Mishra also took his fake interview to win Suneel's confidence. After taking Rs 80,000 from him, they stopped answering his calls. Sensing he had beeen duped by them, Suneel filed a complaint on Tuesday," said Deputy Commissioner of Police, Sanjay Bhatia.
"Mishra had earlier worked with a placement consultancy catering to companies of airport and his accomplice Arora was previously employed at IGI airport. They were identified after police examined the CCTV cameras at IGI airport," he said, adding that there may have some more victims duped by Mishra and Arora and police are investigating.
