English Premier League club Chelsea have completed the signing of Brazilian defender Filipe Luis from Spanish side Atletico Madrid.
The left-back Friday signed a three-year contract with the London based club and will be donning the No.5 shirt.
"This move is a dream come true for me. I now have the opportunity to play for Chelsea, and also in the Premier League, the 28-year-old told Chelsea's official website.
"I'm very happy and looking forward to getting started and giving my best for the team during the coming seasons."
Luis was a key member of an Atletico Madrid team that lifted the Spanish La Liga trophy and also reached the Champions League final last season, only to be defeated by city rivals Real Madrid.
He will set off for Chelsea's European training camp Monday with his teammates, including fellow new arrivals Cesc Fabregas and Diego Costa, who will be joining the squad for the first time.
