Madrid, July 1 (IANS/EFE) Italy defender Giorgio Chiellini has responded to Uruguayan Luis Suarez's apology for biting him during the World Cup Group B match which ended 1-0 in favour of Uruguay.
"It's all forgotten, I hope FIFA will reduce your suspension," Chiellini said while mentioning Suarez on Twitter, reports EFE.
Suarez had earlier apologised to Chiellini and the entire football world.
"I deeply regret what occurred. I apologise to Giorgio Chiellini and the entire football family. I vow to the public that there will never be another incident like this involving me," Suarez had said.
'La Celeste' were eliminated from the World Cup after a 0-2 loss to Colombia in the Round of 16 while Italy were eliminated from the group stages.
