A body found in a south China mountain Thursday is suspected to belong to a man who had allegedly killed four primary school kids in September, police said.

The body was discovered in Luoyang mountain where the suspect surnamed Shi, hid after he killed four students in a knife attack on their way to Gupu Primary School in Pingshan town of Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region Sep 26, Xinhua reported.

The police said that the DNA test suggests it is Shi's body.

More than 3,000 police and civilians joined in a manhunt for him.

Police offered an award of up to 200,000 yuan (about $32,258) for information about the suspect.
