Chinese technology firm LeTV said on Tuesday that it may soon launch its products in India "to tap into one of the fastest growing markets for smartphones and other smart devices".

"Most people in India probably haven't heard of LeTV yet, but indications are that LeTV would soon build up a presence here to tap into one of the fastest growing markets for smart phones and other smart devices, with plans to start selling its streaming service and devices," the company said in a statement.

The Beijing-headquartered company, which recently started its operation in US, has 5,000 employees and has a market capitalisation of around $12 billion on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

The company in the release also claimed that it had created history by notching up sales worth $280 million in a single day at the recently-concluded LeFans Carnival in Beijing where it sold nearly 594,000 LeTV smart phones, 382,000 smart LeTV Television sets, and more than 1.2 million smart accessories like wireless routers, parenting devices, 3D movie helmets, and gaming devices.
