Chinese man kills seven family members, himself

A Chinese man killed himself after murdering seven members of his family, officials said Tuesday.

The tragedy occurred Monday in Hebei province's Xiaonangou village, three days ahead of the Chinese Lunar New Year, an occasion for family reunions in the country, Xinhua reported.

Police found seven bodies at Wu Shouguo's home, including that of Wu's.

Police believe Wu battered his wife, his wife's parents, two children and two distant relatives to death with a blunt object after a family dispute and then took poison.
