CISF trooper's death: AAI staffers in judicial custody

The nine Airport Authority of India (AAI) officials, arrested on Friday in connection with the death of a 44-year-old CISF trooper, were on Saturday sent to judicial custody by a court in Malappuram.

They were arrested on charges of culpable homicide not amounting to murder for the death of CISF trooper A.S. Yadav in a brawl at Kozhikode airport on Wednesday night.

Those arrested, were on Saturday afternoon produced before a magistrate in Manjeri in Malappuram district, who remanded them to judicial custody till June 27.

Six more AAI officials will be arrested soon, said police.

About 50 CISF officials, on duty at the Karipur airport on Wednesday night, have been transferred.
