Prime Minister Narendra Modi Friday said his government is committed to achieving fiscal deficit target announced in the budget.
"We are committed to achieving the fiscal deficit target announced in the budget. We have worked systematically in this direction," Modi said in his address to the Global Business Summit.
The prime minister said India will emerge as a country of opportunities.
"You will see India as a country of opportunities... The new age India has also begun its transition from a winter of subdued achievement lasting three to four years, to a new spring that beckons," he said.
"We can overcome the mood of despair and we must. It is in this context that all the steps we have taken must be seen."
